Competition Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before entering the Skill City competition.

1. Promoter

1.1. This competition is promoted by GetMyFirstJob Ltd trading as Talent People ("Talent People"), registered in England and Wales with company number 06685719.

1.2. The registered office is 61 Westway, Caterham, England, CR3 5TQ.

2. Eligibility

2.1. The competition is open to individuals who:

  • are registered users of the Skill City platform; and
  • are 14 or over on the date they enter; and
  • are resident in the United Kingdom.

2.2. Employees of Talent People, its group companies, and anyone professionally connected with the administration of this competition, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter.

2.3. By entering the competition, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements (including any age requirements). Talent People may require you to provide proof of eligibility and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not meet these requirements.

3. Competition Period

3.1. The competition opens on Monday 23rd March 2026.

3.2. The competition closes at 23:59 (UK time) on 15 May 2026. Entries (including module completions) recorded after this time will not be counted.

3.3. The prize draw will take place during the week commencing 18 May 2026.

4. How to Enter

4.1. To enter the competition, you must:

  • have a valid Skill City account;
  • complete the required modules or game content in Skill City during the Competition Period (as described in clause 5); and
  • actively opt in to the competition by ticking the competition entry checkbox displayed within Skill City or the associated entry form, confirming the following statement (or materially similar wording):
"I would like to enter the Skill City competition. I understand that Talent People will use my personal data only to run this prize draw, select and contact winners, and provide any prize, as set out in the Competition Terms and Privacy Policy."

4.2. No purchase is necessary to enter the competition. Entry is free to all eligible Skill City users.

4.3. Entry is personal to the account holder and cannot be assigned or transferred. Entries on behalf of another person (without their knowledge and permission) are not permitted and will be disqualified.

5. XP, Game or Module Completion — Entry Criteria

5.1. Entry into the competition is based on your engagement and completion of content within Skill City during the Competition Period.

5.2. For the purposes of this competition, an eligible entry requires completion of at least two (2) Skill City modules (or equivalent games/activities clearly labelled as eligible for the competition) during the Competition Period.

5.3. Module and/or game completion will be determined solely by the records held in Talent People's Skill City systems. Talent People is not responsible for any technical issues which prevent completion from being recorded, provided that reasonable technical measures are in place.

5.4. Talent People may, at its discretion, specify additional or alternative XP or completion-based rules for specific campaigns within Skill City. Where this is the case, those rules will be clearly communicated within the Skill City platform and will apply in conjunction with these Terms and Conditions.

5.5. Any attempt to artificially inflate or manipulate XP, game results or module completion (including, but not limited to, using multiple accounts, automated tools, or breaching platform rules) will result in disqualification from the competition and may result in suspension or termination of your Skill City account.

6. Prize Tiers and Prizes

6.1. There are three prize tiers available in this competition (together, the "Prizes"):

  • Tier 1 Prize: One (1) Microsoft 365 and Copilot licence for one (1) year (exact licence type and configuration to be confirmed by Talent People and/or Microsoft at the time of fulfilment).
  • Tier 2 Prize: One (1) Copilot-enabled Surface Laptop (model and specification to be selected by Talent People, acting reasonably).
  • Tier 3 Prize: One (1) Xbox games console (model to be selected by Talent People, acting reasonably).

6.2. Unless otherwise stated in the competition communications, there will be one prize available in each prize tier.

6.3. Prizes are subject to availability. Talent People reserves the right to substitute any Prize (or part of a Prize) with a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.

6.4. Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.

7. Selection of Winners

7.1. All eligible entrants who have:

  • completed at least two (2) qualifying modules/games in Skill City during the Competition Period; and
  • validly opted into the competition,

will be placed into a prize draw.

7.2. Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entrants using a process that is fair and verifiable (for example, a randomised computer selection process or a supervised manual draw).

7.3. The first entrant drawn will receive the Tier 1 Prize, the second entrant drawn will receive the Tier 2 Prize, and the third entrant drawn will receive the Tier 3 Prize, unless otherwise specified in the competition communications.

7.4. Talent People's decision regarding the selection of winners, and any other aspect of the competition, is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

8. Notification of Winners and Acceptance of Prizes

8.1. Winners will be notified by email, in-platform message and/or telephone (using the contact details associated with their Skill City account) within 30 working days of the draw taking place.

8.2. Winners may be required to confirm acceptance of the Prize and provide any further reasonable information required to arrange Prize fulfilment (for example, postal address for hardware delivery) within 30 days of notification.

8.3. If a winner:

  • does not respond within the specified time;
  • cannot be contacted; or
  • declines the Prize,

Talent People reserves the right to withdraw the Prize and select an alternative winner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

8.4. Winners are free to decline the Prize. If you decline, we will not provide the Prize to you and may offer it to another eligible entrant.

9. Publicity

9.1. By entering the competition, you agree that, if you win, Talent People may use:

  • your first name, initial of surname and general location (e.g. town/city); and
  • non-sensitive details about your Skill City achievement (for example, that you completed the required modules),

for the purpose of announcing the winners and for related publicity in connection with Skill City and Talent People's services, in any media, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9.2. Where we wish to use photographs, video, or other more detailed personal data for publicity purposes, we will seek your additional consent where required by law.

10. Data Protection and Privacy

10.1. Talent People will process your personal data in connection with this competition in accordance with applicable data protection law and its Privacy Policy.

10.2. For this competition, we will use:

  • the information in your Skill City account (such as your name, contact details and eligibility information); and
  • information about your activity within Skill City (such as module or game completion, XP or similar engagement metrics),

to confirm your eligibility, operate the competition, select and notify winners, and provide Prizes.

10.3. We may use automated systems to calculate your module completions and/or XP and to identify which users have met the entry criteria. These processes may influence your eligibility for this competition but do not make decisions which have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

10.4. We may share your personal data with trusted third-party suppliers (for example, prize providers, delivery companies and IT service providers) solely for the purpose of operating the competition and delivering Prizes. They are required to keep your data secure and to process it only on our instructions.

10.5. Information relating to the competition will be retained only for as long as necessary to operate the competition, verify its outcome, handle any queries or complaints, and meet legal or regulatory obligations, after which it will be deleted or anonymised in line with our retention policies.

10.6. You have rights in relation to your personal data, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can contact us at data@getmyfirstjob.co.uk to exercise these rights.

11. Fair Play and Disqualification

11.1. All entrants are expected to participate fairly and in good faith.

11.2. Talent People reserves the right to investigate any irregularities and to disqualify any entrant it reasonably believes has:

  • breached these Terms and Conditions or any Skill City platform rules;
  • provided false or misleading information;
  • attempted to gain an unfair advantage (for example, by manipulating XP or module completion data); or
  • otherwise acted in a way that is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition.

12. Liability

12.1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits Talent People's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12.2. Subject to clause 12.1, Talent People will not be liable for:

  • any loss, damage, costs or expenses arising from or in connection with your participation in this competition or acceptance of any Prize; or
  • any entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or not properly recorded as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind,

except to the extent that such loss arises directly from Talent People's negligence or breach of legal duty.

13. Changes to or Cancellation of the Competition

13.1. Talent People reserves the right to cancel, suspend or amend the competition and/or these Terms and Conditions where it becomes necessary to do so for reasons beyond its reasonable control, provided that such changes remain consistent with applicable law.

13.2. Any significant changes will be communicated via the Skill City platform and/or by email where appropriate.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

14.1. These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

14.2. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute or claim arising from or related to this competition.
